Cumbria County Council selects Vectis for new Electric Ferry
Vectis has been selected by Cumbria County Council as consultants for the procurement of a new electrically powered car ferry for Lake Windermere. The project is to replace the current 30 year old diesel powered ferry with a new electric ferry of increased capacity and facilities. The first phase of the project is to identify and assess the feasibility, benefits and drawbacks, risks and costs of the options for the new ferry. Subsequent phases are to develop the selected solution and prepare the tender documents for the new ferry. This project confirms and develops our electric propulsion experience and capabilities and we are delighted to have been selected to support Cumbria County Council.
